Ages 18 and up. Instructor: Jean Kinney. It’s often said everyone has a story, more likely several, to tell. When we tell our stories, we link generations to each other. If you’re interested in writing in general, memoir writing – writing about a life or a particular aspect of a life, such as childhood, a career, family and extended family – can be a great exercise in honing writing skills. In this 4 week memoir writing workshop we’ll discuss what will make your story more compelling; if you’re an experienced writer already, come join us and we can learn from you, too, and you’ll still end up with a finished (or well-begun) project. We’ll start the first night, so come prepared to do a bit of writing, and hopefully some sharing, too.
Dates: February 1, 8, 15, 22
Jean Kinney is a Pleasant Ridge resident who has published articles in newspapers and magazines as well as several nonfiction juvenile books. She has some memories and tales to tell, too, and is ready to take a stab at it right alongside you!
