    Internship responsibilities:
    The Scripps Howard intern will work with the KHAC’s executive director and events manager to develop and implement strategies to increase the visibility of Kennedy Heights Arts Center and promote participation in its programs. In particular, intern will assist with the launch of Celebrations with heART, a new program providing interactive group arts experiences for team building and corporate events. 

    Duties will include: special event planning; social media marketing; development of content for our website and newsletter; and creation and distribution of marketing materials, including press releases.

    Student can expect a portfolio of communications materials upon completion.

    Required skills/training:
    Student must be organized, detail-oriented and possess exceptional writing skills. Strong computer skills and previous experiences with communications, public relations, and social media are highly desirable.

    Internship period and hours:
    Internship is from January to May, 2019, approximately 10-15 hours per week. Hours can be scheduled on Tuesdays through Saturdays between 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. Occasional evening hours may be required.

    Compensation:
    $10 per hour.

    Scripps Howard Foundation supports this paid internship for undergraduate juniors or seniors.  Please do not apply if you already have a full schedule of activities, school and work. Students with the required skills who are interested in learning about philanthropy, non-profit organizations, adding work samples to their portfolio and making a meaningful work contribution should apply. Students should be prepared to provide a writing samples if interviewed.
