Race and the City (Cincinnati) 1820-Present
The class will center around six chapters from the book Race and the City: Work, Community and Protest in Cincinnati 1820-1970. Together we will explore the historic systems that created generational barriers to equitable opportunities for African-Americans in Cincinnati. Students may listen to the reading of selected chapters posted on the moderator’s YouTube channel. Students may interact virtually by posting comments and questions in the YouTube comments section. Students will be invited to give a brief report on one of the four chapters not covered in the class.
