Paint your own Rain Barrel!
Ages 14-Adult. Instructors: Fran Newberry and Mindy Berger. Celebrate Spring and Earth Day by painting and taking home your very own Rain Barrel. This workshop, co-sponsored by Scrap It Up and the Kennedy Heights Arts Center, will provide participants with a Rain Barrel, paint/painting support and all the hardware required to install and begin using it at your home.
Why Rain Barrels? Because they:
1.Save the typical gardener around 1300 gallons of water during a typical growing season
2. Reduce run off pollution and erosion
3. Promote plant and soil health with water that is highly oxygenated and free of salts, fluoride and inorganic ions.
4. Conserve water
Commercial rain barrels with diverter kits typically start at $110. With financial support from Scrap It Up and the resources of the Kennedy Heights Arts Center, this workshop is offered at a fraction of that cost.
Saturday, April 11, 2020 1-4pm
