Join us for a free Hello & Welcome Community Day at Kennedy Heights Arts Center on Saturday, July 23 from 11am to 3pm.
To enhance the exhibition of prints from the Czech Republic in our Kennedy Gallery, titled Printed Voices from Czechia: Social and Cultural Reflections, curated by Saad Ghosn (SOS Art), we will have a festival that highlights the culture of the Czech Republic. This free, family-friendly event will include cultural dances, music performances, a display of cultural information, and regional specific food – all in partnership with the American Czechoslovakian Club of Dayton, OH. Curator Saad Ghosn will also give guided tours of the printmaking exhibition and host a poetry reading. There will also be art-making activities for guests of all ages.
Community Day will be held outdoors on the lawn of the Kennedy mansion, 6546 Montgomery Road. Rain date is Sunday, July 24.
Please park in the large parking lot at the KHAC Lindner Annex at the corner of Montgomery and Kennedy Avenue. Limited parking for those with mobility challenges will be available on-site at the Kennedy mansion.
This summer, we are partnering with diverse artists in an initiative we call Hello & Welcome, designing outdoor installations that will transform our campus into a welcoming space to create and connect. Each installation will be unveiled at Community Day celebrations on the 4th Saturday of the month from April to September.
