Join us for an in-person gathering to view and participate in EXODUS: Reckoning, a virtual performance that reflects the unique and universal story of Cincinnati through ritual, song, and storytelling, as part of Juneteenth celebrations. The performance was created by The In[HEIR]itance Project in collaboration Cincinnati residents.
The virtual event brings together themes of liberation and oppression with local residents’ lived perspectives, told through rituals inspired by the Jewish Passover Seder and the musical spirit of the Black Gospel Church. Many of the words and lyrics in the performance come directly from their open process that began in Oct 2019, working with Cincinnati residents in person until March 2020, and then virtually since COVID-19.
The live presentation will be followed by a talk back conversation with In[HEIR]itance Project artists and Cincinnati Leaders.
This event is free, but registration is requested to ensure we have enough materials for everyone.
