Join us for a free Hello & Welcome Community Day at Kennedy Heights Arts Center on Saturday, August 27 from 11am to 3pm.
Enjoy a day of painting and self-expression! Lance Johnson, a Columbus-based artist with roots in graffiti and street art, will collaborate with local youth to layer vibrant colors, textures, and words of inspiration on a large cube structure installed on the front lawn of the arts center. During this Hello & Welcome Community Day, residents will be invited to lift their voices and add their mark! We’ll also have delicious refreshments, hip hop music, and other activities to encourage interaction between neighbors.
Community Day will be held outdoors on the lawn of the Kennedy mansion, 6546 Montgomery Road. Rain date is Sunday, August 28.
Please park in the large parking lot at the KHAC Lindner Annex at the corner of Montgomery and Kennedy Avenue. Limited parking for those with mobility challenges will be available on-site at the Kennedy mansion.
This summer, we are partnering with diverse artists in an initiative we call Hello & Welcome, designing outdoor installations that will transform our campus into a welcoming space to create and connect. Each installation will be unveiled at Community Day celebrations on the 4th Saturday of the month from April to September.
