Kennedy Heights Arts Center is looking to expand and diversify our teaching roster and is seeking fun proposals from professional artists and arts educators for 2023 Summer Art CampsProposals are welcome in all art disciplines such as visual art, design, dance, theatre, music, creative writing, and digital media.
Summer Camp Instructors are responsible for planning projects and activities for campers, organizing student art exhibitions or performances that end each week of camp, and providing direction to high-school volunteers who provide in-class support with camp activities.
Each camp should be planned around a distinct theme suitable for students of varying ages and skill levels, and should include projects that can be completed over the course of one week.
Instructors are invited to propose up to 5 unique camps.

Status: Contractor
Time-frame: Week-long camps from June 5 – August 11, 2023
June 5, 2023 – June 9, 2023
June 12, 2023 – June 16, 2023
June 20, 2023 – June 23, 2023 (4 day week, no camp on Monday, June 19)
June 26, 2023 – June 30, 2023
July 3, 2023 – July 7, 2023 (4 day week, no camp on Tuesday, July 4)
July 10, 2023 – July 14, 2023
July 17, 2023 – July 21, 2023
July 24, 2023 – July 28, 2023
July 31, 2023 – August 4, 2023
August 7, 2023 – August 11, 2023
Workday: 8:30am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday
Compensation: $875 per 5-day camp; $700 per 4-day camp
Audience: Camper Age Groups: 5-7 years old; 8-10 years old; 11-13 years oldRequired education and experience:
Qualified candidates will have 3 or more years of experience teaching visual or performing arts with youth in a classroom setting.
Experience creating lesson plans and age-appropriate projects.
Ability to create a fun and respectful atmosphere.
Preferred education and experience:
A Bachelor of Art degree in Education, or
A Bachelors degree in your art form and 3 or more years of experience teaching in a classroom setting
