Ages 12 – Adult. Instructor: Carole Gary Staples. Join us for a fun and empowering workshop to make quilt blocks that create a visual dialogue that bridges differences in race, gender, culture, religion and socioeconomic status. The workshops will consist of a short discussion on social issues, and then students will make a quilt block from various fabrics, textiles and embellishments. The block construction will involve cutting, gluing, and stitching fabrics together. The resulting blocks will then be sewn together to make a community quilt to promote social change, diversity, inclusion, unity and community cohesion.
Workshop is the same on both Saturday and Sunday. No experience necessary!
Workshop is free and all materials are included. Registration required.
