How Freedom Echoes
Ages: 8-13. Instructor: Moneeca (MoPoetry) Phillips.
Week 3: June 14th – June 18th
Tuition: $190 or sliding scale
As Coretta Scott King stated, “Freedom is never really won, you earn and win it in every generation”. This youth summer camp “Juneteeth: How Freedom Echoes” is designed to teach the historical importance of Juneteenth, and how our own voice continues to carry a message of hope and freedom into the next generation. We will celebrate diverse authors, and help your young poet and writer find their voice through creative writing, creating arts and crafts. This fun, unique camp is facilitated by MoPoetry Phillips, who offers a “Lyrics as Poetry” jam session that examines the lyrics of popular songs for messages of freedom. You will write, dance, and celebrate all in the spirit of Juneteenth.
