Ages 16-Adult. Instructor: Nancy Gamon. Join us for a fun-filled morning as we transform used clothing into one-of-a-kind fashion wraps. Create a poncho that’s elegant, funky, trendy, or just plain cozy – you decide. Once you know the technique, you’ll be able to stock your closet with unique accessories in a variety of styles, and easily make artistic gifts for others.
Bring your own sewing machine, sharp fabric scissors and measuring tape, if you have them. (Limited equipment will be available for shared use.) Gently used garments in a wide variety of colors and patterns will be provided for use as fabric.
Appropriate for all skill levels. The forgiving construction method is simple enough for sewing beginners, and there are plenty of complex visual possibilities to intrigue the accomplished designer.
The poncho pictured here was made from a textured blouse and a handful of coordinating neckties.
