This beginner-friendly course is designed for anyone ready to move beyond “auto” and take control of their camera. Through a mix of simple theory, hands-on practice, and guided photo walks, you’ll explore portrait, street, and nature photography while learning how to connect your images to the world around you. Step by step, you’ll build confidence in the fundamentals: understanding the exposure triangle, working with natural light, achieving sharp focus, and composing images that tell a clear story. Along the way, you’ll practice quick, clean edits and share supportive peer critiques to strengthen your eye.
What to Bring:
– A digital camera you’re comfortable with (DSLR or mirrorless)
– A 50mm prime lens (f/1.4 or f/1.8 recommended) for full-frame cameras OR a 35mm prime lens (f/1.4 or f/1.8) for APS-C cameras
Whether you’re picking up your camera for the first time or eager to grow beyond the basics, First Frames gives you the tools and confidence to take photographs with clarity and intention.
