Little Amal Workshop

Little Amal, a 12-foot puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee girl who has traveled across 13 countries meeting more than a million people, is coming to Cincinnati!

Create a “Comfort Companion” for Little Amal as she makes her journey. In this free workshop led by artist Robin Hartmann, participants will create unique sock puppet creations using a variety of materials. Each maker will create a note for Amal that their companion will carry. Participants will be asked to consider, “what brings you comfort in times of uncertainty and transition?” and “How can we show up for others in a meaningful way?”

This art-making session is for all ages. Children under age 5 must be accompanied by an adult.

Attendees will be invited to join the  Kennedy Heights Arts Center community group participating in Little Amal’s visit on Friday, September 22 in downtown Cincinnati – and present your gift to Little Amal.
