For anyone who has wanted to try watercolor painting but has barely—or never—dipped their brush in the water… this class is for you! We’ll journey from the basics to the more advanced possibilities of this beautiful and expressive medium, discovering just how approachable and rewarding watercolor can be. Individual guidance and group projects will provide a creative roadmap for everyone to learn and enjoy the ride.
All supplies are included and available in the studio each week.
Additional Supplies (not included): Please bring a plastic or paper portfolio (10″ x 13″ or larger) to store and protect your finished pieces and works in progress.
In this class, you’ll experiment with watercolor in both traditional and unconventional ways. You’ll gain confidence in the essentials—types of watercolor paper, painting in full color using only three primaries, and exploring a range of techniques unique to this medium. Together, we’ll also turn tradition on its head, using watercolor’s distinctive qualities to create art that reflects your personal style and sparks your creative spirit.
